We define “significant contribution” as actions beyond the usual expectations of a member.

For a Certificate of Appreciation nomination, “significant contribution” might include

  • A MThNZ member taking a portfolio or working group leadership role or other significant activity related to practice, research, advocacy or events over a sustained period of time or is considered a role model within the MThNZ community

For a Life Membership nomination, “significant contribution” is a lifetime or many years of substantial contribution to music therapy in New Zealand

Examples of contributions worthy of life membership might include;

  • A significant and sustained contribution to the activities of Music Therapy New Zealand, usually at a national and/or international level.
  • Important advocacy contributions that support and grow music therapy provision in New Zealand.
  • A noteworthy body of professional practice research and/or publications that advance and promote music therapy in New Zealand.
  • A significant life’s work. For example,  this could be awarded on or after retirement.
